MIYC History

Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC) is the largest Indian youth based national organization in Malaysia. As todate, MIYC has successfully established 14 State Councils with more than 350 branches and 11 Associates Members Organisation with members Organisation with members more than 100,000.

The formation of MIYC was initiated by the founder of MIYC, Sdr. Viveka Sri Rajaretinam Arumugam in a small social gathering on 12th November, 1991. Final documentation of the formation was submitted for registration on 17th April 1992.

The MIYC registration was approved and the certificate was issied by the Register of Society, Malaysia on 1st December 1993. The first Annual General Meeting of MIYC was held on 23rd January 1994 at Vivekanandha Ashram, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. Viveka Sri Muthuveloo Chinna was elected as the first President if MIYC and Viveka Sri Sevvai Thilagam Rajaretinam Arumugam were appointed as the First Honorable Secretary General of MIYC.

31ST July 2004 was the important date in the history of MIYC. After 10 years of struggles, finally MIYC was officially declared as a full board member of Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MBM).

25TH May 2006, the long waited MIYC cooperative was formed and obtained the license to operate nationwide.


Objective Of MIYC


- To encourage the principle of volunteerism and democracy in the youth movement.
- To give opinions to the government, non- government and other organizations regarding issues on youth, children and women.
- To organize and enhance good relationship via networking with youth associations, locally and internally on global issues.
- To creatively reach, motivate and raise a caring and responsible generation.
- To recognize the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the basis of its action and its devices.
- To implement development programmes on the basis of universal economic, social and political justice
- To promote peace, goodwill and solidarity amongst member organizations in order to foster a greater understanding and respect for the wide variety of rich cultural values in the country.
- To provide guidance to children, youths and women.
- To utilize youth’s resources for national social and economic development

ON THE ROAD CURING CANCER

Pink Ribbon Campaign

In 28th September 2008, a team of Pink ribbon foundation extremely passionate set off a breast cancer curing activity put towards finding a cure for cancers affecting men, women and children.
Pink ribbon Organization have sponsored the campaign for breast tissue research and analysis along will continue the fight to find a cure patients.The ultimate goal of this activity is to a cure for breast cancer.


Pink ribbon foundation is established to fund all forms of research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer, we have a responsibility to ensure to work hard to get many involve in this campaign as the best possible way as we move towards making our goal a reality.
